How profound a thing silence can be...It is somethin I avoided..when being alone with myself was far more frightening than being with someone... and finally I understood that silence makes u hear the music of honest words. No, not the lyrics of some old remembered song but the notes themselves I've needed to hear..and play with fingers long numb to their sound...
And in my own silence I’ve heard a refrain that is written in the same minor key as mine...not quite harmony but a contrapuntal theme in a symphony we hope to never finish... and in this silence, no difference between us as we listen for all that is still unwritten...
I wonder how my silence actually mirrors my heart. It speaks of its own sanity – as it mildly pumps life to this world breathing idly. And as I exhale the silence that was already filtered from words inside me that shout of hurts, the moist of this pain drastically travels through the strange wind cruelly circling my disintegrating being.
It amazes me how the mere silence about reality can still kill my senses, pushing further every reason to forgive, sweeping clean the strength and the will. It mercilessly blindfolds me, while keeping me awake in the middle of this lunacy.
At the end of the day, what was left of me is the silence that still astounds me, as it subtly consumes my entirety. It is such a sweet state – being the astonishing silence that everyone breathes out once in a while to escape from words; to get away from rules, spellings, ambiguities, and forms.
Someday, someday, I will be the silence that you will once in a while exhale. I will comprise the humid air that speaks of some lame fraction of your history. Someday...we could have wished to stay – and let the silences that we breathe glue the pieces of our grief. Someday. We will take pleasure of the simple hush that offers a resting place above the shaky, fainting words that talk about us. Someday. It shall all pass. Someday.....

SP...
Liked the vibes in here... cold and smoked...
Reminded me of a poem i wrote some time back here on SUL for a contest... a time when it was all good... and I was entering a new room of life that changed everything ... once a prince now a Dark Knight...begun with lots of colors..now closed with the darkness behind...leaving everythign in SILENCE..
anyways..!! felt like sharing it... hope ye like it...
Look at me
Do you see something
I am you
The mist in your head
Open your ears
Do you hear something
I am your voice
The unseen force that keeps you haunting
Smoking shades of eternal vigilance
Wrapping around you like a painted trance
That makes you numb
When your shadow stands against you
like a stoned image
There are voices that deafens your soul
Your own words bounced back to you
Open your senses
Do you feel me
I am the spirit
Sitting with you at someplace else
With your lonesome self
Looking for salvation
Captured in your dark frame
You drain in me
Trying to find peace
No tears ; No complains
Just an empty space
Holding you when alone
for being yourself
I am
the eternal energy
SILENCE
take care...

Saranya
Sometimes we are so much accustomed to the chaos around us that we are scared of silences.
but then the line of demarcation between lonliness and solitude is ver thin and when we cross through the silent zone we are happy.
loved the way you wrote
Keep writing

Dear sarnya,
A good introspection of your inner being. Silence might be gold, as they say, but SILENCE if it is persisted it is taken as a sign of weakness in this world of ours. We should avoid this.
Nice philosophical spreadout for reading slowly while sipping cofee in the early morning in the balcony of your house and think about it. Regards. Rajee.
